What IS 22 Minute Hard Corps?
 - - Tony Horton (also the creator of P90X, P90X2, P90X3, P90, and more) has developed this no-nonsense boot camp style workout that is designed to give you awesome results!  It is total-body cardio, resistance, and core routines that occur 6 days per week for 8 weeks.  And yes, at just 22 minutes per day!  The workouts are fast paced with little rest and blend cardio and resistance training to target major muscle groups in your body.

How will the test group work? 

 My exclusive test group will kick off on Monday, March 7th.  It will be for my current and new customers.  We will begin with a planning week where we will set goals, take measurements (no, you don't have to publicly share these), and dive in to meal planning so that we can really focus on our nutrition throughout the program.  I will be sharing my meal plan templates, and my personal weekly meal plans as well! Then, on Monday March 14th we will begin our official Day 1!!  I feel that it is extremely important to be physically and mentally ready to begin, which is why we take a full week to plan it all out.  Throughout the 8 weeks of the program I will provide you with daily support, motivation, and accountability to reaching the goals that you set forth!  Challenge groups have helped to change my life and build new friendships and I love seeing how they do the same to others!

 Where can you access the group?

 I typically run my groups through a closed Facebook group; however, Beachbody has just released a BRAND NEW Challenge Group Tracker App (for ISO and Android)!! That means you don't have to have a Facebook account and you can participate in the group though the app!  Don't worry, I will make sure you get, and understand, all of the directions on how to access the app!

Absolutely!!  Results from the test group participates have been filtering through and they are nothing short of amazing!!

When Opportunity Knocks....


Opportunity....that word meant nothing to me in the past.  I was "comfortable" with my life. I married a great guy, I had a great teaching job, we had/have two healthy, beautiful daughter's and our days just kept chugging along.   I really had nothing to complain about.  But I wasn't fully happy.  As the days went by I couldn't help but to have that little voice in my head and that gut feeling that I was meant to do something more, or at least something else.  To be honest, up until about 4 years ago I had just assumed that if all went well I would retire from my local school district in my elementary teaching job.  I never ONCE thought in my mind that I would want to quit my job in order to stay home with my kids. In fact, I wasn't even positive that I WANTED kids after starting my job!  I was very career focused and goal driven.  As the saying goes....everything changed after my kids came along (for the better of course!).  

The days of dropping off and picking up my kids at the sitter never got easier, the negativity of my job was starting to have a major impact on me, and I decided one day that I wanted a changed.  It was as simple as that!  The word opportunity meant a little more to me at that point.  I had looked in to some opportunities but nothing felt right.

 I ended up taking a year off from my job to see if I could truly be a stay at home mom.  Well, before the leave even started I discovered this little thing called Beachbody Coaching.  I had spent that Summer in an online accountability group with my Coach to help get myself healthy again.  I had thought about that big word, opportunity, the entire Summer.   I was watching my Coach run these groups and I was seeing how she was building this business from the comfort of her own home while having two kids (under 2) at home.  I was watching her TEACH others how to be healthy.  I couldn't help but to think that this was the perfect situation for me, since I have a strong teaching background and my girls were also both under 2.  

What did I do?  I decided to jump in with two feet, take a risk, and become an entrepreneur! I know, a little crazy, huh? But here's the thing....

You know that gut feeling that I'm talking about?  The one where in the back of your mind you think "I"d like to try something, but I'm afraid to disrupt the current comfort zone."  That was the feeling I kept getting and it just wouldn't go away!  So I had to see if this whole Beachbody Coaching thing would work for me.  At the time, aside from doing my own research (which we all know isn't always effective on the Internet) and chatting with my Coach, I had to just give it a shot and learn the logistics as I go.   While we do, as Coaches, learn as we go, there are different opportunities available to see if this job would be a good fit.

Fish Sticks

I will openly admit that cooking seafood just isn't my thing.  No matter what the recipe, it's usually a epic fail.  In fact, you'll notice on my blog that I have very little fish/seafood recipes on there!  So, since it is Ash Wednesday and Lent has begun, I am facing the whole "no meat" thing for a while.  I figured I'd make an attempt tonight at a new recipe.  My husband wasn't real thrilled when I told him I was trying a new fish recipe for dinner ;) 

MUCH to my surprise, we ALL loved it!! A fellow challenger recommended it in a group of mine and it came from the skinnytaste.com website.  So, I certainly can't take credit for it!

Fish Sticks


Fish Sticks:
  • cooking spray
  • 1 pound Alaskan skinless cod fillet, about 1-inch thick (thawed if frozen)
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 lemon, squeezed
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

For the crumbs:
  • 1 cup plain Panko crumbs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 450°F and adjust the rack to the center position. Spray a large rimmed baking sheet with oil.
2. Slice the fish crosswise into 2-inch long strips, about 1-inch wide.

3. Combine egg whites, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, paprika, salt and pepper in a medium bowl.
4. In a second bowl combine the Panko crumbs with Old Bay seasoning, dried parsley and remaining paprika.

5. Pat fish dry with paper towels and dip the fish into the egg mixture, then into crumbs, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Spray the top of the fish with oil and bake until the crumbs are golden and the fish is cooked through, about 12 minutes, or until the crumbs are golden and the fish is cooked through. 

That's it!!  I served them with a side of green beans and some brown rice.

Love Your Body Health & Fitness Accountability Group

We are almost to the middle of February and here in Central PA Winter is in full swing.  My family and I just got home from our vacation, which was a cruise, and I have to admit, it was REALLY nice not having to worry about fitting in to my shorts, tanks, and swim suit in the middle of Winter.  Thinking back to prior years, there is NO WAY I would have felt comfortable at this time of year in my skin.  


In fact, if we rewind a few years I would be looking in the mirror about 5-10 pounds heavier due to the holidays and the Winter slump wondering how the weight gain happened so quickly.  My New Year Resolution would have been gone by the wayside by now because with 2 kids, having that "me" time just wasn't possible (or so I thought).  While it appeared on the outside that I was happy with my body, I was far from it.  Of course it is all 100% worth it, becoming a mom and the things it does to your body really throws you for a loop!  

About 3 years ago after going back and forth between "diets" and programs I decided that I needed to make a change.  I was stressed out as a new full time working mom and everything I tried just wasn't working.   On top of that, I wasn't exactly happy with my job, which made things all the worse.  When I say that I woke up one morning and decided I was going to make a change THAT DAY, I'm not lying!  I reached out to a friend of mine who was a Beachbody Coach and not only asked her about these online accountability groups she was running, but even asked her about the Coaching opportunity.  I decided that I was getting a full life makeover!  

21 Day Fix, Clean Eating, Healthy Recipes, Lisa Decker, love your body, Meal Planning, Online Accountability Groups, Shakeology, Successfully Fit, After deciding to try an accountability group I realized that trying to get healthy on my own wasn't happening because I wasn't doing it right!  I really didn't know how to eat properly (despite what I thought) and I learned that even though I felt like I had long, busy, and tiring days, I really could re-prioritize and make time for daily exercise.  So, the girl who gave up before any results happened, the girl who thought eating a bowl of cereal was better than a full meal, and the girl who thought she didn't have any time to devote to getting the knowledge and implementing tips to get healthy successfully made a change AND stuck with it!  I became HAPPY in my skin while I was working towards my goal.  I accepted where I was at, didn't compare myself to others, and just kept pushing.

I started this change when my youngest was an infant and my oldest was about 2!   I remember doing diaper changes during 30 second breaks in my workouts!  Yes, it was tough but it was SO worth it!  My girls learned that being healthy was just a part of life.  THEY now ask me when I am going to exercise!  Those little eyes are always watching and when the stress of parenting and work was getting to me, they could see that.

It didn't take long for me to realize that I wanted to pay it forward and help others experience the positive change that I was going through.  No, I'm not a nutritionist and no, I'm not a fitness trainer. I am a wife and mom of 2 young girls who properly implemented what I learned in my first accountability group to get healthy.  When I didn't feel the motivation, the group members were there cheering me on. When I felt like giving up, the group members were there making sure I was on track.  When I wanted to share a simple non scale victory, the members were there to congratulate me.  I formed friendships that I STILL have to this day! 
So in my effort to pay it forward, I have been running these same monthly accountability groups that helped ME get my life back on track!

When does it begin? We will start planning week on Monday, February 15, 2016.  Planning week is a time where we set goals, take measurements / before pics (no, you don't share these), learn about meal planning, create a meal plan, and get physically and mentally ready to begin implementing BOTH nutrition and workouts the following Monday.

What are the requirements? For starters, I offer these groups to my personal customers so I would need to be your personal Coach in order for you to be a part of the group.  If you are not already working with a Coach you can create a free account HERE
In addition,  you are required to do a Beachbody home fitness program (which I can help you choose) along with Shakeology.  We all replace 1 meal (out of 5 or 6) with shakeology for the duration of the group.  I will be teaching you how to change your eating habits and providing you with my tips on how I successfully created this healthy lifestyle change.  Having 1 meal each day that you don't have to plan out and that is quick, easy, delicious, AND VERY healthy is going to maximize your results and make your life easier.  Shakeology has saved me time and time again between the nutritional value and the convenience!  If you decide after the group you don't want to continue with it, no worries!

How do I access the group? I run these groups through a closed Facebook group so only the members of the group can see what is being posted.  So, checking in with the group each day is required. You can simply read my posts and at the end of your day just give a rating on how things went.    

My goal and commitment to you is to not only provide you with my tips, but to also make this change less stressful and more motivational!  You don't have to do this alone!
